The New York Finance Convention brings McGill students to the heart of the financial industry for direct exposure to some of North America’s most prominent firms. Timed ahead of key recruitment cycles, the convention provides delegates with a unique opportunity to build relationships with industry professionals, visit firms across New York, and ask questions directly to representatives about their work, culture, and career opportunities. The convention culminates in a McGill alumni cocktail mixer, connecting delegates with alumni working across the city’s financial industry.
The Toronto Finance Convention gives delegates direct access to Canada’s financial industry and the opportunity to build meaningful connections with professionals ahead of recruitment. Throughout the convention, students visit leading firms across the city, hear directly from professionals about their roles and experiences, and engage with them in more personal settings through sit-down meals and networking sessions. The convention also brings together delegates and McGill alumni at an alumni cocktail mixer, providing another opportunity to build relationships and gain insight into careers across Toronto’s financial industry.
The Women in Finance Convention brings together students from across all faculties and with varying levels of finance experience to learn, connect, and build confidence pursuing careers in the industry. Over three days, delegates participate in firm information sessions, workshops, panels, networking luncheons, and other events with leading financial institutions. WIF provides students with the opportunity to develop practical skills, learn directly from industry professionals and leaders, and connect with an ambitious community of peers. Ultimately, the convention aims to strengthen the female finance community at McGill and equip female students with the knowledge, relationships, and skills to succeed in finance.
